The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music will be offering a new Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in the music industry this fall, it announced Tuesday (October 3).

Billed as the only program of its kind within the University of California system, this new degree will prepare graduates for careers in areas such as artist and label management, publicity, finance, live music promotion, digital marketing, music supervision, music publishing and licensing, and more. According to a press release, the bachelor’s degree program “builds on the success of the School of Music’s popular undergraduate minor,” with more than a quarter of U.S. music industry job listings in California and the U.S. 7 of the top 10 cities say they are hiring.
